Pre-Coffeehouse Songwriting Workshop

Tomorrow evening (June 14th) before Sitgreaves Coffeehouse, Christine Dewhurst will be leading a songwriting workshop for anyone interested.  Christine will be at Trinity at 5:50 p.m. and the workshop will be held indoors.  Workshop attendees don’t need to bring anything.  Sitgreaves Coffeehouse will then kick off at the regular time.  As always, you can get directions by visiting the Directions section of this site.

Friends of Sitgreaves

There is now a section of links for websites or blogs of friends of Sitgreaves Coffeehouse.  This section is really meant to highlight the amazing work the fine talent that regularly participates in Sitgreaves does outside of the coffeehouse.  If you’re a Sitgreaves musician or band and have a website, MySpace page, Facebook page, album, video, etc. e-mail blog@sitgreaves.org with a link to the material and we’ll add the link to the list.  Note that we do review all suggested links simply because of the all-ages nature of Sitgreaves.

Brand New Website Launched

Welcome to the official Sitgreaves Coffeehouse website!  If you’re new to Sitgreaves, check out the About page up top to learn more about Sitgreaves Coffeehouse.  For those of you who have been to sitgreeaves.org before, you’ve probably noticed things look a tiny bit different.  And by tiny bit I mean very.

That’s because the website has been completely redesigned from the ground up.  Some of the content is the same but the design is shiny and new.  This shiny new approach will make it a lot easier for the site to be kept up-to-date and it will (hopefully) be much more pleasing to the eye than the old design.

For those of you that are into the whole Web 2.0 thing, you’ll notice you can subscribe to the handy RSS feeds and you can use the “Share:” bar at the bottom of every post and page to post something you see here on your favorite social networking or social bookmarking site.  The share bar also has icons for e-mailing and printing a post.  For those of you who are not familiar with the term Web 2.0, it’s just a term for innovative ways the existing web is used.  Don’t worry, you don’t have to upgrade anything or learn a new version of the Internet.

Please give the new site a try, if you find any bugs or goofiness, just leave a comment on this post.
